Which White Noise CD is Best for My Baby?

The biggest question most parents have is “which white noise cd is best for my infant?”

There has been a proliferation of white noise CDs in the marketplace, with many variations in white noise sound.  And. some swear by running a vacuum cleaner or hair dryer which can calm baby, but also hurt her ears!

So which one is the best for your baby? At BabyWhiteNoise.com, we’ve created a variety of white noise sounds specially blended in our professional sound studios to remove the harsh tones that could hurt your baby’s sensitive hearing.

Step 1) Start with the Baby White Noise CD as it most emulates the chaotic sounds your baby has heard for nine months in utero and is a familiar recognized sound comfortable to your baby. It is also one of the smoothest and most palatable white noise sounds available on the market, and is a safe bet for most all newborns and babies.

Your baby will equate the Baby White Noise to the safe and secure feeling she experienced inside the womb and hearing this sound again will help her feel secure and safe so she can relax and fall asleep. An added benefit of Baby White Noise is it also has a noise masking affect and is helpful at blocking out noises in the household like TVs, other children, etc. that may be bothersome and a hindrance to your baby falling asleep and staying asleep.

Step 2) Invest in 2 or 3 other white noise CDs to test and experiment with, or get a “Sampler” CD with a variety of sounds to help babies sleep.

Step 3) Play the same sound or CD for 5 to 7 days before switching to a different white noise sound CD. It may take 5 to 7 days for some babies to acclimate and become comfortable with a new sound to sleep by.

Just as you have favorite foods you prefer, you will find that one sound is received better and is more effective than another and that your baby will prefer his or her “favorite” sound for sleep or nap time. Once this is established and you know what sound CD your baby responds to the best, you will have an invaluable tool effective for rest, naptime and sleep time that you can use to age 5 and beyond. Simply playing her favorite sleep time sound CD at naptime or bedtime will let her know it is time to relax, settle down and sleep. She will soon look forward to this structure and when she begins to talk, don’t be surprised if she asks for you to play her favorite sleep CD at nap time and bed time.

With a very small minimal investment and a little experimenting, you can quickly and easily find the best and most preferred sounds for your baby to sleep by and enjoy years of easy and productive bedtimes.

Note: If you find your baby continues having trouble relaxing and sleeping, please contact your pediatrician.
